Wanze – Start of the Third Stage Cobblestone Classic
A certain highlight of the first week of the Tour de France, 2010, is the third stage cobblestone challenge. Cobblestones haven’t been negotiated in the Tour since 2004, and before that only three times in the eighties.
This is the first time that Wanze, Belgium participates as a stage town, although local fans know it well from the annual Ardennes Classic. Situated in the Belgian Liege region, it should bring out the masses of cycling fans to cheer on the riders.
See the start of stage three around 12:30 in Wanze, or move farther down the stage for the 13 km stretches of cobblestones closer to the finish, in France (Arenberg – Porte du Hainaut).
