4th Stage of Tour de France 2010 starts in Cambrai
Cambrai, second time a stage town, is home to some 30,000 inhabitants. The town was founded in Roman times, and has a history of significant events through the years. Last time Cambrai hosted the start of a Tour de France stage was in 2004, when Lance Armstrong was able to obtain the yellow jersey from Robbie McEwen in a 60 km time trial. This time it’s a short stage – 150 km – finishing in Reims (Champagne-Ardenne). The stage finish should provide a mass sprint, as there are no major hurdles on the stage, but those more interested in the start of the race can stay in a hotel in or near Cambrai.
